Cookie Policy

• parasol_boards — remembers which boards this browser has visited so we can show “your boards” on the home page and the in-board board switcher. Contents are minimal: each board’s slug, its name, and the time you last opened it. Set by your browser (readable by our server so the list can be rendered for you), SameSite=Lax, expires after ~1 year. Clear it any time with “Clear all” on the home page.
• parasol_sid — an anonymous random id for your browser, used only to apply rate limits fairly (so several teammates sharing one office IP aren’t throttled as if they were one person). Contains no personal data. HttpOnly, SameSite=Lax, expires after ~1 year.
• parasol_auth_<slug> — only for password-protected boards. Stores a HMAC-signed token proving you entered the correct password. HttpOnly, Secure, SameSite=Lax, expires after 30 days.

Parasol no longer uses local storage. Earlier versions kept your visited-boards list there; it now lives in the parasol_boards cookie above. The first time you load the new version, any old local-storage entry is moved into the cookie and then removed.

• No third-party trackers (Plausible Analytics is cookie-less).
